Frederick McKinley Jones, Thermo King's first engineer, was one of the most prolific African American inventors in our nation's history, and he called Minnesota home. His most famous invention is the reason Thermo King was founded by Joe Numero in 1938, and it helped create several new industries from frozen foods to supermarkets to fast food restaurants.
Watch the Minneapolis FOX 9 news story that shared Fred's inspirational story -- not only in honor of Black History Month, but as a perfect precursor to Engineering Week, which is celebrated next week. #TKPride
The amazing story, which also features Thermo King resident historian Rick Smith and VP Commercial Dwayne Cowan, aired on February 16.
